A big problem with this one is we have to go through another examination to prove that we have any of these things that the president signed off on, stating that they were presumptive. I have had to drive over 90 miles each way and was told by the V.A nurse in charge of the program for Golden Colorado that we don't get any milage for this. With the cost of fuel when I went to this appointment at $4.79 a gallon. No wonder I don't trust our government.

I was EXPOSED to the BURN PITS in 1 Desert WAR as an 11B1P! In West Virginia I've been trying to get REGISTERED, but they just KEEP PASSING ME ON TO SOMEONE ELSE!! Government/PEOPLE really SHOW how much they are "THANKFUL FOR YOUR SERVICE " SMH

If you read Section 804 of the legislation as I have you find language about an offset that will be applied to any benefit program of the VA, Medicare and Medicaid. Awaiting announcement of the actual implementing policy. In any case claimants advised wait could be up to two years. If my understanding is correct the Department of the Navy would first deny or offer to settle at an unacceptable amount. Then your legal representative would file suit in the court of jurisdiction in North Carolina. In the meantime your medical records need to be assembled and proof obtained that you were stationed at Camp Lejeune at least 30 days during the qualifying period from 1953 through December 1987 (another bottleneck as many records requests are being processed). If anyone has better information and can correct anything above I welcome it. For now many details of the process have yet to be made public. You have by now seen many law firm ads about this issue.
