Hardships for VA claims? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/hardships-for-va-claims

Hello, I was curious as to if anyone knows how to expedite a disability c&p claim when your health is at risk? I am currently enrolled in CH31 Voc Rehab and my claim is for PTSD with IU (Individual Unemployability). Since the diagnosis of PTSD its becoming more difficult to keep up with school and attend classes and per my CH31 contract I must continue on with school until this clam goes through. The system is in place to be fair and partial across the board, of course we know it is flawed. Contact your local VA health facility and they will probably get you in. The nice thing about being treated by the VA is less transference of records between private and VA.

Remember, take care of yourself. Do not put off care waiting for a claim to come through. This greatly speeds up the process.

The second is if you are facing a terminal illness...

Unfortunately, if you've already filed your claim, there isn't much you can do through the VA Benefits Administration.

But as others have noted, are you getting help for your PTSD? CH31 does have extenuating circumstances for schooling. When I started school I was diagnosed with cancer and then 6 months later had to go back for chemotherapy which I dropped nearly all my classes. It's handled case by case. If you're worried, I highly recommend speaking up to your CH31 case worker and seeing what can be worked out on that end. I failed several classes because I could not attend or manage to do the work due to illness and treatment, I was okay. Hang in there, contact your rep, and continue getting help.
