However you may have other stuff in between. It&#39;s equivalent to the Valorous Unit Award, so if you have that, it goes one lower. If you have a Superior Unit Award, the NUC goes above it. Subsequent awards of the NUC are denoted by 3/16&quot; bronze stars. Never contaminate a Navy product with (gag) oak leaf stuff. Rule of thumb is any award from another service goes lower to the equivalent you have. Joint awards are always above individual service awards. It&#39;s worn after the Army Meritorious Unit Citation (solid red), but before the Air Force Merit. Unit (or more likely, before the Army Superior Unit Citation. No gold frame, as others have noted.<br />If it&#39;s a Navy Commendation Medal (individual decoration, not unit award), it goes behind the Army Commendation Medal, before the Jt. Achievement/Army Achievement Medal.<br />Assuming its the unit comm., it&#39;s similar to how CJCS Gen. Hugh Shelton wears an Army PUC and immediately behind it a Navy PUC. It is worn on the right side, Army style, without a frame (somebody got that bright idea for consistency), to the left of any Army PIC.
