Has anybody ever joined after having weightloss surgery?

Has anybody joined the Air Force after getting Bariatric Surgery ? I had the operation back in october and plan on applying to the air force around 1 year anniversary of my surgery. I want to also show them I have had no complications and can pass their PT test.

Your best bet would be to talk to an Air Force recruiter. Generally, if you can meet all the qualifications you should be fine. But I wouldn't know if they have anything about weight loss surgery. I wouldn't think so. But again, a recruiter would have the most current and correct response.

I have no first person knowledge but am sure there have been a few.

Focus on your recovery and physical conditioning, so when you finally arrive for training you can be successful!!!!

PFC Yvonne Jimenez Moranu Bariatric Surgery? My first wife had that surgery in 1969. My ‘flash memory’ reminds me of the vital need for her to have semi-annual blood tests!

Bariatric surgery of any type is disqualifying for military service.

Old thread I know....but what were your findings? I am trying to do the same
