Has anyone actually been through the RE-3 code waiver process and had positive results? 2019-09-20T02:10:15-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 5041582 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Hey fellas I failed two PT test and got chaptered out 2 years ago my RE code is 3 with a Honorable discharge and narrative is just physical standards my recruiter said it will be easy to get my waiver to get back in just curious if anyone has actually been through it and got positive results as well just so I have a base to stand on? Currently looking to go back in as an officer. Navy had already granted me the waiver, Army has also, conditional on passing a new APFT prior to meps, had absolutely no issues Response by SPC Cody Parker made Sep 20 at 2019 8:42 AM 2019-09-20T08:42:53-04:00 2019-09-20T08:42:53-04:00 CW4 Craig Urban 5042637 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Your in trouble. My RE3 was for medical discharge. Find a bulldog of a recruiter that knows what steps are needed at what time, as sets up the dominoes to fall exactly as they need to. It took me 3 recruiters before I found mine at Whiteman. <br />It is MUCH easier to get the waiver for the RE-3 code than it is to get it changed to a code that allows re-enlistment/commission. I&#39;d actually look at the discharge code more than the RE3. I process RE3 on a regular basis but I consider the discharge code. If the code indicates that it was a PT failure, then you will be GTG when passing HT/WT and an APFT. If you have questions, please let me know. <br />good luck, K Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 20 at 2019 11:27 AM 2019-09-20T11:27:38-04:00 2019-09-20T11:27:38-04:00 SGM Bill Frazer 5042999 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Going to be tough- they just announced that we reached our enlistment goal this year, waivers will be looked at hard. It was a simple waiver and I had to write a letter. Mine was because I got out because of pregnancy. There is tons information on here on this topic.<br /><br />Cliff Notes: work with a recruiter as they are the gate way to the waiver process. Too many variables, particularly with medical with QUAL vs DQ. <br /><br /><a target="_blank" href="https://www.rallypoint.com/topics/re-code">https://www.rallypoint.com/topics/re-code</a> <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> <img src="https://d26horl2n8pviu.cloudfront.net/link_data_pictures/images/000/439/060/qrc/b498d1e4.jpg?1569024161"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="https://www.rallypoint.com/topics/re-code">RE Code</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description">A live Q&amp;A where U.S. military members and veterans discuss and evaluate RE Code.</p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> Response by LTC Jason Mackay made Sep 20 at 2019 8:02 PM 2019-09-20T20:02:50-04:00 2019-09-20T20:02:50-04:00 SFC Buzz Hickox 6582571 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It can be done and I&#39;ve seen it done successfully for the Navy. You must be diligent, jump through all hoops presented, and be good at waiting it out. Give it a try is my advice.
