Has anyone attended BLC at camp Ashland? I'm trying to figure out the weekend pass policy.

You will be near the Platte River and all the structures are on top of 8 foot concrete pillars. I attended in 2011. No weekend pass when I went however since they moved it back to 30+ days, that might have changed. We went 16 days straight and worked everyday so there was no weekend pass. You are in the middle of nowhere surrounded by cornfields. It is about 20-30 minutes to anything significant. Depending on how much control they want to exert, you may not be able to leave post due to liability issues or DUI.

I attended BLC as Ashland a couple of years ago. We worked 7 days a week and there was no weekend pass policy when I was there, I don't know if that has changed.

I went to BLC a couple months ago at Camp Ashland and we trained through the weekends nonstop.

Weekend pass....non-existent when I was there. It's in the middle of nowhere anyways.

22 days straight, limited periods on weekends to execute liberty but duty every day. Instead of being stuck at school for 30 days, you go for 22 days straight, graduate, and go wherever you're going to go quicker. Some things we're working on:
1. Working on a Camp Wide Wi-Fi for class material as well as MWR. ETA FY 18 completion
2. Significantly enhancing DFAC with top shelf food and a nice environment- JAN 18 implement.
3. Enhanced MWR, Gym, PS4, theatre, outdoor volleyball, horseshoes etc. etc.- Complete
4. Movie night, and free pizza night once or twice per course.- Started
5. Many other things too numerous to list here.
Advice:
You're here for 22 days, don't try to find your future spouse here.
You're here for 22 days, don't sexually harass anyone or have an attitude.
You're here for 22 days, learn, get out and apply it with your EMs back at your unit.
You're here for 22 days, don't get drunk, be stupid, try to outsmart the system, you'll fail.
You're here for 22 days, we want you to learn (most importantly) and pass. No one here wants you to fail. You'll have active, guard, reserve Soldiers here, everyone is equally important to us.
You're here for 22 days, I care about your well being and won't tolerate harassment or discrimination of any kind. Let the Army Values be your guide in everything you do.

You will not be getting a weekend pass while attending BLC.
