That&#39;s my first tip... getting the training is okay, but it takes you away from your unit for too long of a period I believe in a lot of cases. <br />If you just want the education of a paramedic, a few other ways are out there to get it.<br />If you&#39;re unit genuinely wants a Paramedic, they will need to look at getting you the toolkit to go along with it. It&#39;s tough for sure, don&#39;t let yourself go in the military aspect just because you are going to a civilian school that was the biggest problem that we had in my rotation. As for the maintaining the certification. Ft. Bragg Medical Site Training Center has a course you can take in order to maintain your hours and certs. There are online versions as well. Go over to WAMC and talk to SSG Lombard (Hospital Education, basement) he can answer any question you may have.
