Has anyone done a full PPM (DITY) move from Alaska to Texas?

Wedid a partial on the way here. I am wondering if it is more feasible to just do it all ourselves or not.

I would not do it. I used to be a DOL in Europe and the transportation officer worked for me. Up to you. Alaska to texas?????

As a Transporter, I don't think anyone can truly give that advice. As you, I did a "Partial DITY" there, however, I would never attempt to drive back through the Alaska mountains, and through Canada with a full load. The roads suck and very few gas stations could be a logistical nightmare. Good luck.

It can be done, as long as you plan well. I would recommend downloading the free Bell’s Travel Guide for the Alaska Highway. There is also the Milepost Guide to purchase, however it’s written as driving up to Alaska.

I saw several U-Haul trucks on my drive up to Alaska, they were driving down. The roads can be terrible with heaves, pot holes and such. The roads for most part are one lane. The roads around Mucho Lake are very narrow with switch backs. Steep grades exist along the route. There is ample stops for gas; the rule of the road is to fill up when your tank is half full.

There are hotels you can make reservations with along your route. I’d look for large towns for the best accommodations. Plenty of RV parks along the trip.

As stated, certainly can be done. Plan well and have fun should you decide to take on the journey.
