Has anyone ever been to the Unit Training Management course?

I was recently selected to be my unit's training NCO. Has anyone ever been to the unit training course? If so where is it located and how long is it?

SSG Private RallyPoint Member congrats, we had Training NCOs, that went to the Education Center on post at Fort Hood to get the training. Check at Battalion schools to find out where the training is or your S-3. Good luck!

Its DTMS its 40 hour course not worth ppt's but will teach how to input data and tng calendars.

SSG Private RallyPoint Member, I've been a Training NCO practically my whole career. Ft. Hood,TX has a course. But to be honest a lot of it is on-the-fly learning and self-help. Regulations and policies will become your best friend. Commander, 1SG, Platoon Sergeants, and Platoon Leaders will either love you or hate you. AR 350-1 will be your primary weapon. Have fun.

I went when I was stationed at Fort Hood back in 09. If I remember correctly it was 2 weeks long. What helped me, I got acquainted with AR 350-1 and had a sit down with the S3 for a good battle rhythm.

It is at Fort Knox. It is an awesome course. It explains so much. And, because it is at Knox, it is free to toy command. They still have to pay your orders of you're not AGR, but everything else is free.

There is a "Training NCO" course that is held at the Professional Education Center (PEC) at Camp Robinson, Arkansas. This is a 40 hours course that is helpful for newly appointed Training NCO's because the first 4 days cover DTMS almost exclusively. The last day and a half prior to out-processing they cover ATRRS input.

Depending on your "Daily duties and scope" assigned by your Supervisor/Rater, you may be required to complete many other administrative duties as well. If this is the case, you should also consider looking into the Basic HR and Admin Course. This is another 40 hours course that covers many other topics such as resolving pay problems and submitting Soldiers pay, memo writing, awards, and many other common tasks.

It's difficult to get in. That class is always full. I tried for several years. It is not required if that's a concern.

This is a very old post, but I recently attended the UTMC at Vilseck - and it was amazing. I wish that I had received this type of training much earlier in my career. I highly recommend this class for any NCO.
