Has anyone ever heard of someone leaving a few days before their DEROS or taking leave right around their DEROS during the holiday season? 2018-08-03T01:47:39-04:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 3849011 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I&#39;m writing because I&#39;ve been told that no one has ever seen this work out but my PCS from Korea will be happening right after HBL I&#39;m wondering if anyone has ever heard of someone leaving a few days before their DEROS or taking leave right around their DEROS during the holiday season? DEROS is usually the no-later-than date the servicemembers has to leave the country, so if they schedule a departure a few days sooner, it can ensure Soldiers don&#39;t exceed the timeline. Once you turn in your leave form, your DEROS will be adjusted and you will receive a flight around your new DEROS. Your new DEROS is your intended report date minus your leave. The key is scheduling early to be guaranteed the departure date you want. Unfortunately You will not be able to depart sooner than that just to take your leave. Once you receive your orders I recommend you to immediately go to transportation which can help you to better plan your PCS leave. I hope it works out for you. To my knowledge our BC never disapprove any, including mine. I was able to leave on Friday instead of Monday. That was the only instance that I knew of perhaps others took it as well. My DEROS was in February.
