Has anyone ever heard of the "Military Brat Pin"?

I recently found this and was wondering how many of you have seen this.
Should we be honoring the Children of Soldiers by presenting this to them in some form or another? be it a painting, pin, or whatever?

I have never heard of it, and I spent 37 months as Garrison Commander... But, any recognitions for families is always a good thing. I checked the site, and it looks like a private organization/business vs. a not for profit. They are selling the pins/medals.

This should be parental prerogative. I got my daughter a "Military Brat" challenge coin...think she still has it someplace. She also has a military bear that I got her. Other then that, I try to honor her with my time. Personal opinion: looks like a cheezy medal if what is in the photo is it.... just sayin!

I really don't know. Is it necessary? Probably not. Is it a fun, harmless way to recognize your kids for the hardships they endure in a military family? Probably so. My only real question is...Is this a retroactive award? I was a military brat and didn't get one...

I have to honets say I have never seen this award. I'm sure that it would go in the bottom of a drawer like most things given to children.

That picture is hilarious. But it also makes it unsuitable for use as an actual gift until the children are . . . say in their late teens to twenties.

But that's a great gag gift!

As a Marine Corp brat, I don't think that it would have meant as much as when my dad would take me to the morning PT. Or taking me to command functions. I am all for rewarding our little ones for the sacrifices they make while we are in but I think is a personal choice from the parent in a way that is best fitting for that particular dynamic between them.

As an Army Brat of 73 yrs. I feel that all the littles should be recognized. Children suffer as much anxiety when separated from their Active Duty Service. Let alone the constant pressure of what you do will affect his/her Military Career.
I believe in The Bratpin award and wear mine proudly.
