Has anyone ever worn the MP Brassard when conducting force protection duties?

I guess I should clarify, by Force Protection I meant Antiterrorism, Physical Security and those niche fields.

Sounds like a leading question...but if you wear the brassard you should be armed (loaded weapon).

Once upon a time, the Military Police Corps were issued metal LE badges, which were only authorized for wear on the Class A uniform. The MP brassard was used on the fatigue/BDU uniforms. Then the MP Corps got a new commanding general who promptly took back all the badges which have not been seen since (what happened to them?!). Now, with velcro patches, there exists a slap on MP emblem (don't know where you can get one if not assigned to a combat mission in the Middle East, etc.). There are some Korean knock-off versions of the badges, but are relatively poor quality. Bring back the original MP badges! Just my personal opinion...

Yes but only when armed.....Wearing the Brassard otherwise is painting a target on you.

That's why when we were in Korea I kept trying to get the "ECHOS" to take them off then not at the Confinement Facility

When did you leave FLW? I did not get to day Good Bye. CPT David just took over a training Co in 701st.

Many years ago, if you were on the Korean DMZ without one you were a free target for North Korean sharpshooters.
