Has anyone had a psych consult at MEPS, specifically for ADHD?

My recruiter has never heard of such a thing, and is debating if it’s worth trying to pass.

If you want to be in the military, it’s definitely worth trying!! That said, diagnosed ADHD would require a waiver and if you are treated by any stimulants, you will need to be off of them for a year before you can join

This is one of those things you have to weigh. People with ADD and ADHD have difficulties entering the military depending on the severity of the disorder. If you’re motivated, try it! The consult is not honestly that bad.

I think I’m capable of functioning totally normal haha. My recruiter’s boss doesn’t think its worth the resources. what is the consult??

Its not him to determine. To me a waste of resources are the recruiters that dont want to try. Sometimes because of to much paperwork the military misses on great people. Just keep pushing Cassie. Its the only advice i have left. If you dont try then you wont go anywhere

Cassie, a career in the military is 100% your choice. The recruiter is merely a portal if you will. They’re your method of getting into MEPS and into the military. If your recruiter “doesn’t think it’s worth it”, get a new recruiter. It’s your career. You have every right to try.
