I'm going through the va for s mortgage and they told me it was about to be denied because my military background didn't relate to my current job. Has anyone heard of this happening?

I was in the Signal Corps and when I got my VA loan I was working as a deputy sheriff. I think someone handed you a line of BS.

It happened to me at first. A change of mortgage specialist did the trick.

It completely depends on the bank you are working with and their underwriting guidelines. My company would not deny military/veterans based on how your military background related to your current job.
