I understand you need to submit a DD Form 149, but if it has been longer than 3 years, you must provide justification as to why they should add it after that time period. Has anyone had success with amending their DD-214 3+ years after discharge? Also the Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm and Frame. All Vietnam Veterans are authorized these two ribbons if they served in country. Back to your issue I suggest your read Army Regulations 600-8-22, Section II, Para. 8-6 (Pages 98-100). See if you meet the criteria and them submit a Standard Form (SF) 180. Follow the directions on the SF180 to learn who to submit your documentation to. It will probably go to St. Louis, MO where they maintain all military personnel records. Good Luck!
