Mine was seven quarters in classes alone and that was only due to having a Master's Degree that counted towards the program. It took another year for my dissertation. There is an incredible talent pool here on Rally Point. I hope that my question did not offend any of you that have worked hard for your Ph.D. or Doctorates program. Your dedication and hard work is a testament to your character and pursuit of excellence. All of the posts were professional and genuine in content.

I will take the remaining portion of my GI bill to continue my studies in Industrial Hygiene and pursue the same Ph.D. program of my father, his Ph.D. is from the school that most that have made America what she is. That is the school of Hard Knox, and Ph.D. is being Poor, Hungry and Determined for success. This is still a great country of opportunity and I am always awestruck at the achievements of those that fought the rough neighborhoods, the struggling farmer, rancher, small business owner or, the family that was homeless living a true rag to riches story.

Being poor is not a deficient but a need that a person feels to push harder and ahead, hungry is a feeling for a substance of continued education or championing an idea, and determination is a drive to set and achieve goals. These are all qualities I see from each of you that replied. Thanks again great conversation from Americas finest in uniform.
