Has anyone not gotten their tier selective reenlistment bonus?

I'm a 14E SPC going through re-enlistment. RIght now for my grade it's a tier 5 bonus for $10,600 for 5 years, I calculated I'd get around $7,000 ish after taxes. Now retention is telling me, because my ETS date is June 2017, my srb is getting reduced to $7,100 for 5 years, around $5,000 ish after taxes. Does this sound right?

I just re-enlisted last month for 5 years for roughly a 12k bonus. They take 27% out for taxes and I got a little over 8k out of it. The math does seem about right (the tax part) the whole ETS thing smells fishy to me. -35N

You can only Re-enlist within a certain window of your ETS. Used to be 90 days I think but, I don't have access to the current Regs. Those bonuses are moving targets. It could go back up or even get higher by June of next year when you are in your window. Best of Luck to you!

Your SRB isn't reduced, you just don't understand how a bonus is calculated. You are paid based upon the amount of time you are adding to your contract. Roughly speaking if you are more than a year from ETS, and you reenlist 5 years, you are adding more than 3 less than 4 years to your service. That's the amount you are paid based off the SRB chart. Subtract 25% for taxes, 28% if your state takes taxes (if I remember correctly).

As SFC Boyd stated you only get paid for what you are adding to your contract. If you are 14 months away from your current ETS then you are only adding 47 months to your contact by reenlisting for 5 years and that is all you can be paid for, the 47 months. According to the most current SRB message Milper message 16-115, 47 months = $7,100 and this is just taking from your comment of your ETS being in June 2017 and it being May. If you wait one month then your SRB can go up to $8,800, however the messages can change at any time. Your Career Counselor is correct since you can get only get paid for what you are adding not what you still owe on your current contract. Hope this helps

Yep, the big army green weenie got you. You first mistake is being air defense, your second mistake is trusting in career counsellors. ADA will drain your life, I know very well from being ADA for 10 years.

I just reupped for flight medic. Tier 4 bonus 4 years 7600 bonus before taxes.

My mistake.
Tier 4 bonus for E4 4 years 7000 is what I got for my reenlistment for flight paramedic.
