Has anyone participated in the Invictus Games?

The organizers of this year's Invictus Games, which are happening in Sydney, Australia, in October, just started accepting volunteer applications. I had a fantastic time volunteering at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, and think it would be even better to support fellow veterans from around the world. Did anyone here participate in the Orlando Invictus Games?

That is a nice thought but unless you are assigned to PACCOM, I would steer clear of anyplace that is putting its citizens into concentration camps. As bad as you believe that "Generalissimo and President for Life" Trudeau is an amateur compared to anyone in the political leadership of Australia.
Then there is the consideration that as an American you are really going to stand out. The Australians in general like Americans though Communist China likes us considerably less. Australia's security service (both security and collections) is shot through with moles and agents of influence. The police and other government services are also compromised. There's a good reason why the US fighter pilots recruited to train the PLAAF travel from Australia to China and back. You also don't want to be that far away from home should hostilities break out. The US Government would of course make every effort to get you safely back. Then again you saw how well they planned and handled the final Afghanistan flights out of Kabul.
