Luckily the Army gave me a second chance.. Since then, I have learned from my mistake and continued my service and tried to do the best I could to show my command that the incident didn't define who I am. In the last 4 .5 years I've accomplished alot. I am now a SSG ( promoted through ncoes etp), on an indefinite enlistment, and im 3 weeks away from graduating the ncoes course I failed to complete before. Its been a long 4.5 years and the paperwork and incident has clealy set me behind and i believe it has served its purpose.

With all this said and done, the army has allowed me to continue my service, reup, and promote. my intent is now to appeal the DASEB once I have my new 1059 in hand.

Looking for any help or guidance in the process of DASEB and what I need to submit so that I can continue to progress.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Has anyone petitioned to have unfavorable information moved to the restricted file of the Ahmrr? If so, how was the process? 2020-09-03T20:36:24-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 6276366

I have a Gomor and marginal 1059 from not completing ncoes back in 2015. It is not an easy process but yes it can be done.

There are a few requirements. First at least a year must have passed since you got it. Then you have to write what amounts to a letter expressing how you have grown and learned from it and become better as a result of it. You need to have letters of recommendation as well from your CoC. Then it is all a matter of them reviewing it and siding with you. When it was moved HRC left a nice memo explaining that there was an Art15 here that was moved. Not sure how that helped, but he still got selected for what he wanted to do. Its going to be hard however because DUI's are the one thing the Army views as that could have been prevented, but you made the decision to drive impaired. You meet the initial grounds to have it moved to your restricted file. Don't let anyone discourage you from appealing the DASEB because it's a process and it can be done with some help and guidance.
