Has anyone re-entered the military? If so, how long did the process take to get approved and receive a report date to MEPS?

I have been in contact with a recruiter. I have turned in an application to re enter the army. I just wanted to know if anyone has been through this process and how long did it take to get approved and the date to meps?

It depends. Are you a waiver case or a clean enlistment? If you’re a waiver case it’ll take a while longer than if not.

It took me a while, but I was also commissioning when I came back in. The biggest hang up for me was getting approved for my physical. I had a 20% VA disability from my enlisted days which mucked things up.

I went from the RR one branch to Guard in another branch. Medical will always be the one thing that slows you down.
VA issues add 2-6 months.
Any Waiver adds 2-6 months.
Depending on the waivers depend on if you can get issues cleared up concurrently or one at a time.

Waivers can take months and the re-enlistment rules are changing constantly. Trust your recruiter and follow up with him/her weekly. Be patient with the process. Paperwork takes time

I just re-enlisted in the NY National Guard. So Slightly different. From first contact to swear in, 5 weeks. I had to go thru the over 40 extras. I have found that both this go around and with my initial enlistment many years ago, it is all about your recruiter. I have been very lucky to have two excellent, motivated recruiters who work very hard on my behalf.

I have been trying.... The guys over at http://www.barracks_lawyers/E4_mafia.com said never listen to the idiots who tell you your RE code means you cant enlist again...Everything has a waiver. My RE code 4R seems to be a tough one though...It causes recruiters to giggle it seems, no waiver yet...So Im trying a different branch of the Army next year....Talking with the recruiter now..https://www.salvationarmyusa.org>

I was in the Marine Corps now in the Army... I started the application June 2017 and I left for school Oct 2017. As long as you stayed out of trouble since you’ve been out and no new medical conditions it should be about the same or less. Hope this was helpfull
