Has anyone served with 3/4 CAV at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii?

I will be PCSing to Hawaii and got a sponsorship email saying that my new unit will be with 3/4 CAV. I was just wondering if anyone had been with that unit and could give me a heads up as to what it is like there. Thanks in advance!

SGT (Join to see) I was in the 2-6 Cav over in the aviation brigade and I can say that the 25th is an excellent unit to be in. Hawaii is a great place and like SSG (Join to see) said earlier definitely space out the things you do. Try going places like maunawilli falls and swimming in K-bay. Also do spend the cash and visit the big island. Make the years in Hawaii the best you ever have.

SFC Ernest Sauer
I was in C Troop 3/4 Cav 1974 thru 1978 , I was a SP5 at the time, SP5 Ernest Sauer. I enjoyed my time in the Air Cav, once in a lifetime experience.

SFC Ernest Sauer - I was there in C troop during the same time. OH-58 crew chief. Guys I remember, Ho, Bill Batson, Sgt. Meno. Played on the troop flag football team. Lived in the barracks. SP5 Ludwig.

I am on the 3BCT staff which is the HQs for 3-4 CAV. All of the BNs here have a high OPTEMPO due to multiple requirements across the Pacific. Depending on when you arrive you may be deploying to Australia for some upcoming exercises. There are also numerous exercises on the islands of Oahu and the big island. Let me know if you have specific questions and I can answer them.

Yes, 3-4 CAV will have completed the Australia rotation by then. But next year you will probably be going to JRTC in Fort Polk.

Lived the cav life for 3yrs,Had lots of great buddys, HA! SGT.HALTER AND PJ FROM NY, AL BLanchette ,Any OLD SCHOOL CAV. P.S. any one rembmer the trooper name that got killed in the motor pool 81 or 82 while playing around at the wash rack in his PC? please let me know.
