Take a copy to the S1 and fill out a pay inquiry. Retention can also help to explain the terms. The process should have been started about 90 days before your new contract starts which hopefully your Adin NCO did. Then i believe it goes to battalion and brigade im not sure on that part but it eventually goes to state and sits on a desk waiting for review and some point the unit is contacted to make sure you are still in good standing. And every thing checks out at state then it goes up to NGB and sits on a desk for last i heard 120 or so days because of backlog. Then after what feels like forever NGB sends it back to state i dont know why and they do what ever the need to with it and send it back to NGB to a different person this time. So now that it is back at NGB it sits on that persons desk waiting for he/she to sign it and then send it over to DFAS. You can also speak to your Admin NCO and see if he can get online to check the status of your bonus and it will give him a time line of what has already happened. Most in my unit took about 3 months and that was before the shutdown so now expect closer to 5 months at least before you get it. Like i said mine has been a year and still havent received it but there was also an issue with mine and was able to fix it back in January. Also that (P) is not part of your rank so i kindly ask that you remove it being you are not authorized to have that there. Generally speaking, you should have gotten it 45-60 days after the contract start date. BUT, if your readiness NCO doesn't go into GIMS (Guard Incentives Management System) and say "yes this soldier is in good standing and is still eligible for a bonus", then the process can take much longer. I am hoping you have received your bonus by now, but if you haven't then you should contact your BN Career Counselor or RNCO. They are supposed to pay out within 30 days. You need to follow up with your S1/DIV finance cell/retention NCO. I am not sure why, as 8,250 should have been the approximate bonus after a 25% tax.

This is the first I have heard of the "you will receive half your bonus now and the other half annually". Can anyone provide me the regulation to verify that statement, as I didn't receive my bonus in the past like this, or provide me any further information regarding my situation? Thanks! It took 6 months to receive the last installment. I also re-upped for another 6 years a whole year prior to my ETS, which in the guard, qualifies you for another $10,000 split bonus upon the same ETS date. It's been 8 months now and all I have gotten was that it is at a state level. All I can really say to the young Joes, is bend over and take it like a man.....it may not be right, but at least you get to serve your country! Try to look at that and forget about the bonus.
