Has anyone who has been deployed to Gitmo heard of or experienced any health problems, such as cancer?

Good Query! The Older the Base the more likely a member was exposed to Hazmat.

I was there in 92 as part of Task Force Gulf Bravo, dealing with first wave Haitian migration. We were there to build up the camp and make upgrades to Camp Buckley. We did have buildings that we could not go into or touch, because of asbestos and lead paint. So yes some of the buildings had asbestos in them

I have had two people close to me contract a strange form of melanoma, like the form Jimmy Carter had, my friend died and my wife has not had any new spots and in a couple of months will officially be in remission. Both my friend and my wife were in GTMO in the mid 2000s. The doctors at MD Anderson said it was uncommon to see one of these rare cases in a doctors lifetime, but yet I know two, weird.

I was stationed on Gitmo on the Green side in 2000. I have not experienced anything like cancer, yet.

No I haven't. I was there February 1982- February 1983.
