There seems to be a Rise of Single-Parent homes and a High Divorce Rate over the past few Generations. Has Marriage lost its Luster and Value? What happened to the Commitment between the Man and Woman? Why does it seems like women are content with raising children on their own? Why is treated like a Badge of Honor?

SPC Andrew Griffin I don't think marriage has lost it's value. I think men and women have lost their way. Read this through before you jump on me. In our society we have lost our way. Men and women used to dress with style, we used to follow a code that required treating our elders with respect. It used to be men respected women. Now men and women are refusing to grow up. This is reflected in both sexes who prefer to play with toys (video games and the like) instead of going out and getting a job and becoming responsible for themselves thereby making them responsible enough to have a family. We are failing to build character. We spend too much time communicating through devices and not enough face to face time. We strengthen relationships by doing things together not by talking about it. There's a lot of hiding behind cell phones when problems arise instead of meeting face to face. It is immature behavior. Our society has become one of instant gratification men and women don't spend time getting to know each other and building a foundation on which to build a relationship. It's a false belief that moving faster is better especially when it comes to relationships. To answer your question, We're not content to raise a child alone.

Totally agree. I know the topic of same sex marriage is a touchy subject but I will go ahead and address it. I believe this is detriment to marriage as well because it is an attempt to redefine what it is. What are your thoughts on this?

I'll answer one of your questions with another question. Why are men seemingly ok with allowing these women you're referring too to raise these kids alone? I personally do not believe that marriage has lost its value.

Most men aren't men just because they grow in age! There are a lot of grown boys! Who don't seek a Commitment or Responsibility but just a Cheap Thrill! They abandon the woman and the Child!

Marriage may have lost its luster to the world SPC Andrew Griffin; but, in God's eyes it shines as bright as it ever has. The marriage of the Lamb of God to the bride of Christ is one of the most treasured realities that we will never understand this side of heaven.
From a earthly standpoint I love my wife and am committed to her for teh rest of our lives.

BZ, LTC Stephen F.. My wife and I are a perfect example of God's "You can run, but you can't hide" rule. She is my best friend and we were specifically created by God to go through this life together.
