I recognize that most if not all administrators are part time and get no remuneration for their time.
I came back from absentee voting based on my disabilities to find many of my food related questions removed and others where I had deliberately tagged humor to keep the tension down modified by removing the Humor tag. I am disgusted with the idiocy of the blind application of what appears to be an arcane rule.
[Update I modified the title from "Has RallyPoint administration gone insane?" to "Has RallyPoint administrative decision making become counter-productive?: to make it clearer that I am not ranting against RallyPoint management or administrators but against the rules which probably need to be reviewed.]
• Topic not of sufficiently broad interest [I thought we were supposed to focus our discussions not make them broad - that is why we tag specific groups]
• RP 3-1 4-4c "Discussions such as “What is your favorite kind of chip?” or “Vote up your favorite team!” should not be permitted."
Every question I posted included the humor tag to allow people to blow off some steam and others to post their responses to the survey questions included.
These survey questions were removed. Each one had specific choices to select including other:
What is your favorite style and flavor of potato chip?
What is your favorite kind of bean?
What is your favorite hot beverage?
What is your favorite cold pie?
The following discussions all were modified to remove the Humor tag which in many cases defeated the purpose of reducing the significant tension on this net:
Does it make sense for the Pentagon to dim the lights because it is energy awareness month?
Why do citizens of the USA seem to want political dynasties?
How far will the gender neutrality efforts will go in the near future?
How many points do you receive for each up vote?
I just got 30 points for an up vote. Is this good news?
The White House has changed the way they respond to petitions. What are your thoughts?
FYI I tagged Food/Chow and Politics because those were the tags where my discussions were removed from or added to in place of humor.
This may well be my last day here. I have been worn down by the petty foolishness of some people.

LTC Stephen F. Well, I think RP needs to decide what it wants to be. Does it just want to be the LinkdIn for the military, discussion only allowed on military issues as they relate to service? Or does it want to be a social site for military members, current and former, to come together and socialize.

One of those situations justifies removing the posts you mention. The other doesn't. The problem is that it's not really clear (to me, anyway) which way RP is intending to go. My vote would be for the second option, because I find it enjoyable to interact with people who have a similar background (or at least the same basic starting point) as me, regarding a variety of topics, whether it's military issues, news, opinions, etc.

I for one, was insane to begin with LTC Stephen F. so I can't blame our RallyPoint family. Why don't you message the help desk and they can look into this and see if they can find any wrongdoing by the member admins. The topics you posted would never be allowed in the RallyPoint days of old, but these days I have seen little restraint on subject matter being discussed. To properly address member admins (or anyone for that matter) who have over stepped their bounds or treated any member unfairly or disrespectfully, I suggest adding the following Monty Python clip to your message description.

I started to message the help desk in response to the 10 message I received; but, it seemed overwhelming SFC Mark Merino.
My various medicines impact nme at various times. I think my blood pressure and heart have stabilized so I may send a couple emails to the help desk.
I wanted to post a discussion about a topic which I think others have been affected by.
You raise some good points. Since RallyPoint membership has changed quite a bit since it began and our nation has gone through a lot of redefinition of terms at the national level, it is probably time for RallyPoint to relook at the rules and perhaps develop at least one topic where the rules are loosely applied - such as Humor, Political Correctness, etc.
I have enough psychosis in my family tree including one son to be able to recognize insanity when it stairs me in the face :-)

I responded to a couple of your "questions" from which the "Humor" tag was removed without realizing they were meant to be humorous. They seemed serious to me and warranted serious comments. Does that make me "the joke"?
