How is the distinguished LTC West (ret) doing these days after being bounced from congress? I'm sure the good LTC has a lot of time on his hands while wearing his ORB on the lapels of his suits. I'd like to see him make a showing where he isn't screaming louder than a CSM who saw a PVT walking on HIS grass. I seriously admire the LTC West who went the extra mile to save lives in Iraq, but can't stand the shell of a man he's become in politics.

No most of us who use social media for the latest news updates are well aware of the Liberal Media Bias. and tons of fluff about the Kardashians, Caitlyn Jenner & last but not least Donald Trump & Hillary Clinton

You see people getting bent out of shape just on social media headlines and commenting like its a life or death situation, yes I am guilty sometimes of reacting to a headline before reading the article, but most of the time I will read the article to see what it says before posting something.
And yes I realize that this is a Duffleblog article and its meant as satirical, I was caught off guard a few months ago with a sensational headline in a post here and posted without reading or knowing the source.

People are quick to believe anything that reinforces their worldview, whether it's right or wrong. If that weren't the case, we wouldn't have near the problems with racism, sexism, or classism that we do.

The problem as I see it is todays citizens are addicted to social media and want to believe what they believe is right. Too lazy to do the necessary research to determine validity of what is promulgated (I always liked that word in the Navy). When something is posted anywhere, the first thing I do is validate the claim, unless properly sourced.

I hear people everyday discussing topics they have read or viewed on different media sites and it is disturbing at best.They debate different subjects that are ridiculous and really believe they are facts.

SERIOUSLY?!? I really hope that you know what Duffle Blog is. If not then let me explain. Duffle Blog is a satire website that pokes fun at problems or common sense issues in the military. It's no way true. Hopefully everyone else realizes this as well. Probably should have read the article before posting it on here.

Example: I get quite a few emails forwarded to me....I read it and at first I'm like...WOW!...but then I start thinking...mmmhhhh, I wonder if this is true...so I go and look it up and 7 times out of 10...guess what? it's not true! I find that most people never look up the info and automatically ASSUME it's true and just willy nilly pass it along to 20 of their friends who pass it along to 30 of their friends and it just keeps going and going and going....till it gets to me....and I pass along to everyone on the email list THE TRUTH...

Yes, Absolutely...TOO MANY people believe what they read online. It blows me away.

Social Media has made this generation intellectually lazy. We have a universe of information in our pockets with cell phones and 4G access to the internet and yet people will share memes as fact.

My favorite is the "Obama Hangs Muslim Prayer Curtains in the East Room of the White House"

The sad part is I've lost friends because of this meme (which actually I'm better off without them)

There's no such thing as Muslim Prayer Curtains
The East Room of the White House has looked the same/similar since BEFORE President Ford. LOL
