CPL Private RallyPoint Member 4725421 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have a SPC who wanted out of active duty really bad. About a month ago, he went to the Reserve Comp. Career Counselor and signed a contract with the Guard. He had a solid plan at first. He was going to work in the cyber field, where he had already started working part time on the weekends and would switch full time after active duty. Well recently they laid him off and he&#39;s worried. That was one of his cushions for getting out. Granted he can still go to school, use the GI Bill and all that but that&#39;s not enough. He really wants to reenlist for active duty now that his plans fell through, however our only issue is we don&#39;t know if he can. He already signed the NG papers and swore in. Post Retention has not been around this past week and we want an answer asap, so I&#39;m looking here to see if anyone can maybe help us out. He&#39;s a good soldier and I don&#39;t want to tell him &quot;Sorry&quot; just yet if there is any possible solutions to his problem. Maybe just try to see if he can reenlist? Maybe if he goes and does an ARSOF MOS it can override? Just trying to think. None of my higher ups know anything either. Have a soldier who's still Active, but enlisted in the NG, but had a small crisis and wants to stay Active, what to do? 2019-06-15T19:33:22-04:00 CPL Private RallyPoint Member 4725421 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have a SPC who wanted out of active duty really bad. You are not obligated to that Reserve contract until the day after you ETS. The reserve counselor can cancel his contract, it takes about 3 seconds, and your soldier can re-enlist for whatever he&#39;s eligible for Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 15 at 2019 9:33 PM 2019-06-15T21:33:09-04:00 2019-06-15T21:33:09-04:00 MSG Dan Castaneda 4725644 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>He “wanted out of active duty really bad.”<br /><br />ARSOF doesn’t want him.
