Have you ever been caught by a Duffleblog story and believed it?

Duffleblog is a satirist point of view of military life and stories and sometimes there is a service member who takes it out of context and believes it to be truth. First, answer the survey, second, tell either the story that caught you off guard that was believable or the craziest one you have read.

The one about the CAV "Stetson" replacing the beret was good, then the one about spouses being issued "spouse rank" was passed around and then another where the Pentagon was moving to Kansas to save $$$$ among others. Share your instances of the blog.

Duffleblog was introduced to me a few years ago by a Soldier who was falling for the story. Each story on Duffleblog has some hints of truth mixed in with some pretty funny jokes. It's good to look over some of the articles and enjoy and laugh. But keep in mind, the line between what the military does and what Duffleblog posts can sometimes blur together. ;)

Well, I can't say I read it daily, but I do read it frequently and enjoy the satire.
I am constantly surprised when people believe the stories.. especially when the story is attributed to duffleblog!

The first and only time I got caught up into a Duffelblog story was the one about ISAF killing kids with candy. I think I figured it was satire somewhere around the first paragraph. That was my first experience with Duffelblog...

This is the first time I've ever heard of duffleblog. Now if you'd started out the question with: "This is no shit....there I was...." I'd have probably believed it.

Someone shared a story on FB from this site about AF was only recruiting hot chicks. I did believe it for a minute until I saw the other stories on the site.

When I was a young lad in the Corps a rumor was going around that the Marines where going to adopt a beret as our new cover. Man I was pissed I did not want to look like some Army puke (no offense intended Army folks). Couldn't figure out why the Commandant of the Marine Corps would do this to his men. Can't remember what it was published in but it really got going and upset a lot of jar heads. Sorry not a real duffleblog story.

So, I marked believed a post/reference in the past, but will caveat that..... I read with increasing disbelief that "this surely can't be true...." than realized it was Duffleblog or Onion..... At that point, I could do nothing but chuckle at my own self for getting pulled into the suck.....
