My favorite was in Ecuador. Our guide split open a branch in the rain forest to reveal dozens of little, brown ants scurrying around. He scooped some up and ate them, then invited us to try it. I ate a few of them and enjoyed it, once I got used to feeling them wiggling around on my tongue. They tasted like lemon! =) SGT Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 21 Mar 2015 00:07:25 -0400 2015-03-21T00:07:25-04:00 Response by SPC David Shaffer made Mar 21 at 2015 12:16 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/have-you-ever-eaten-a-bug?n=543292&urlhash=543292 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Not my favorite food source but sure beats being hungry. From canned corn to curry paste, from premium coffee to peanut butter, most foods contain insects. For example, when tomato ketchup qualifies for the highest USDA grade standard possible, it's required to contain no more than 30 fruit fly eggs per every 100 grams (3.5 ounces) [source: North Carolina State University Department of Entomology].
