A couple of our recruits in our platoon during Boot decided it was time to go check out the Enlisted Club, our Drill Sergeants just so happen to do head count about the time they were leaving to go to the Enlisted Club, and the entire Platoon ended up doing a 4 mile run at 0230 hrs, in the pouring rains of Georgia, after the run the 4 that caused the run, was given straw brooms with the instructions there was not to be a touch of mud anywhere in the Barracks.

Personally, I went out of my way to pick tasks that were considered "punishment", just to confuse the upper ranks, much as I said when showing up at Ft Lost In The Woods for BASIC wearing a short, tight haircut, only to be asked as I was forced to pay for another haircut. My answer, "The shorter the better, sir.", to the civilian barber.
I exited with the longest hair out of C-5-3!
When I got to AIT, I volunteered for guard duty. As Perm Party there, I volunteered for CQ Runner for both my Co and Bat.
As soon as I got my Military License, I volunteered for driver of the guard, too.
Nothing confounds the system more than doing what the 'bosses' won't... 8-D

To this day, I still recall what happened to earn the platoon a trip to the “room that sweats” I MOS school.
