It looks like if I want to post something specific to just one of those groups, and a combination of those groups, I can do so.

There's a groups option to, but I'm currently not in any groups.... I need to investigate this further....

However, I wonder there is still an option for any and all people to see the discussions? I don't see where this was an option for me. Am I limited to chat with only these 4 colleague designations now? Have you noticed the Colleagues/Groups feature for discussions yet? 2014-05-20T21:55:09-04:00 PO3 Private RallyPoint Member 131318

There are Groups and Colleagues. You can chat or post on all the forums, I think these are tags you listed as interests, and it lists discussions with the same tag, also other ,members that have one of those tags also. I do not think it is anything to worry about. More or less a tool for finding discussions and people with similar interests. If a member goes to the general "Recent Discussions" page, then you still see all recent discussions. However, over time some members will only want to see discussions in specific categories... in your case for example "Navy" or "IT" or "Columbus". This means that if a member wants a better filter on what they read, they will be able to do so. The colleagues section is basically an easy way to "pre-select" likely groups you would want to post to. You are catching the early phases of this feature.

Please note you can still post to any "group" by tagging it in "Topic" -- for example, you can still tag it "Army" -- if you want it to appear in the Army section as well as your default groups.

This feature doesn't limit anybody's access, but does pave the way to create more managed discussions in the future, for those who want it. So before I posted this topic, I posted a topic and purposely chose Navy only because it was navy related but non-navy folks were able to vote up the discussion. Not that I mind but now I wonder 1) if it's not currently yet working as intended, or 2) if I misunderstand how it's supposed to be used.

Do using these colleague groups limit visibility, or is there another purpose for them? Anybody know? I have some great cover photos submit to the bottom 2 groups on the my list.

Thanks!
