I have four memorials for four friends who are on the Wall. The memorials can be updated but the web site owners are so busy, they can't take anymore changes until they get caught up. I've had success with two of my memorials. One is being contacted by a family member of a vet I served with in Vietnam. I have looked for a relative of him for years. She stumbled upon my memorial and contacted me. We are close like family now. She is the only living relative of him. The other is an MIA that graduated from high school with my wife. I have worn his bracelet since they came out in the 70's. Two months ago his sister, who I have stayed in contact with and also knows my wife, told my wife the remains of him and his helicopter crew has been found and identified by the tail number on the crashed chopper. He and his crew have been missing since 1969. They are in Hawaii having DNA run on the bones for positive identification of each crew member. If you served with someone on the Wall, and want to leave a memorial, and are possibly interested in contacting a family member, this is the best way.
