We got a copy of the bulletin from the National Guard in regards to the data breach that they reported last Friday;

Apparently, they lost all of the data on everyone who served in the National Guard since 2004 and they knew about it last October but didn’t bother to tell you about it until Friday. I guess they were just waiting for some news, like the OPM data breach, to suck up the news.

Makes you wonder why they made everyone convert to .mil if they can't keep it secure...especially since I can't access my Enterprise mail most of the time. GKO has gone away and now they are talking about replacing AKO because it isn't a viable platform. Here's hoping that the new Cyber Corps can protect us. Thanks for the info as this had not been disseminated widely.

Does that affect all fifty states or just the Arlington Virginia national guard unit

In addition to the OPM data breach, National Gurad Bureau has announced a "breach" that may affect current and past National Guard members. This incident was caused by data being copied to a contractor's non-secure server, not necessarily by intentional external unauthorized access. The web page also links to a (NGB) website for identity theft information and a call center if you have additional questions.
