Those bloody essays are just a figment of the past and I will never revisit them again.

I just watched We Are Marshall for the second time after a few years, and realized this viewing is much more emotionally charged than the first viewing. I did not pick up or relate on all the poignant emotions on the first go around. Two things caught my eyes and ears, first those emotions and feelings parallel some of our lives, second there were so many emotions, that I had to start writing them down as I watched the movie. The probability the second viewing correlates to my body of experience is the reason why I have greater empathy and understanding. I will enumerate the emotions and feelings below.

Loss: The loss of friends, teammates, family members, and loss of confidence.

Courage: The courage to take a chance and start all over when the world is against you.

Regrets: Regretting you survived and regretting you have not done enough.

Forgiveness: Forgiving folks who have guilt for surviving and forgiving those who you squeezed everything out of them, who could do no more.

Winning Spirit: You need a don't quit attitude, a sense of risk, hope, and a winning spirit in dire circumstances.

Rebirth: When something catastrophic occurs, you need to start anew, get a second chance and dream of what can be.

Broken: Some people will remain broken to a degree.

Have a fantastic evening! So many great messages of what leadership is all about through loss and challenges! That's my take on the movie. I'll watch it again now! Thanks Response by COL Mikel J.
