Police in Palestine, TX just released this video of an Officer involved shooting. From the time the individual draws the firearm, to the time he hits the deck and isn't moving is 8 seconds.

Sergeant Gabriel Green and officer Kaylynn Griffin apprehended a suspect in a Palestine, TX Applebees on May 31st. As the officers escorted the suspect out of the restaurant, he pulls a handgun from his pocket and and aims at officers. After engaging and killing the suspect, it was found that he only had a BB gun, which looked exactly like a 9mm pistol. A peace officer has to make a determination of force in situations. If a gun is pointed at them regardless of type that is a threat.

Criminal District Attorney Allyson Mitchell stated, “The investigation of this case shows the importance of body cameras in determining the justification of an officer's use of force or use of deadly force.”

Alexander said an investigation determined Bushey had a BB gun designed to look like a 9 mm handgun.

I fully support the officers reaction in this video. Appropriate use of force, and violence of action. Looks like a Suicide by Cop, for what, being involved in a theft? Plain stupid on the Suspect.

Hindsight being what it is, perhaps handcuffing him in the beginning maybe....but, regardless, he is still a dead stupid man for pulling that weapon.

When you watch BOTH body cams it's clear the male officer did a great job. The female officer however drew her tazer initially(WTF?!) and then is late drawing her pistol. By the time she drew, the suspect was down and lost control of his weapon, therefore she should have never fired. The last three shots were her, and to me she wasn't justified, even though he was.
