Height and weight/pt requirements? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/height-and-weight-pt-requirements

So I just found out today that I have a pt test in two days. I am on a permanent profile to do the walk. My NCO also told me that since I’m taking a pt test, they have will be doing another height and weight on me even tho I did one 2 months ago and passed despite not taking a pt test as I was on a temp profile then. I was on the ABCP program in October of last year. My question is, can they do another ht/wt on me if I just did one? And if I fail (I’m overweigh and won’t pass tape) can they separate me?? If one was out of standard, it immediately froze potential promotion and the Marine could not attend individual professional development courses. Medical conditions/restrictions (outside of pregnancy) were not an acceptable reason to be out of standard.

If the command suspected that a Marine was no longer able to pass the PFT, and had no medical waiver, the Marine could be re-tested without notice. Basically anytime they want to do so they can. Just easier to stay in standards and not scramble to drop 10+ lbs in a few weeks. But, if you're a good Soldier, your Command should work with you to get your BF% down. Many Soldiers struggle with weight and/or tape tests. If you have a balanced diet, portion control, cut out alcohol and any sugars, you will likely lose weight. If you are motivated and can work out everyday, you can even ramp up your protein intake and will also likely lose weight (you must be working out regularly or you'll likely add weight this way). Make an appointment with and your primary care physician to see if they can run tests to see if your thyroid is functioning properly. Also if you can, see a nutritionist for a weight-loss plan if you haven't already. If your on the ABCP, then all you need to do is make progress every month. Good luck to you. Both AR 600-9 and FM 7-22 allow and encourage the commander some latitude on when that HT-WT is conducted for that APFT. AR 600-9 encourages commanders to conduct the HT-WT a minimum of 7 days prior to or after the APFT. FM 7-22 provides an example policy letter that states "Height and weight screening to meet AR 600-9 standards may be conducted on the day of the record APFT or up to 30 days before or after the record test."
Regardless, these are only suggestions, and the commander has the final say on when the HT-WT is in conjunction with an APFT. And you would be hard pressed to find a commander willing to go past that 30 day example in FM 7-22.
