CAPT Private RallyPoint Member Thank you for taking the time to be here on September 9, 2017 to answer questions from Members of RallyPoint. That you for your past service to this country, your continued service in the Reserves, and your great service to our veterans through Hiring Our Heroes! Four questions for you Eric:

1. How difficult do you find placing veterans, transitiioning service members, and military spouses in jobs throughout the country through Hiring Our Heroes initiative?

2. Is the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation considered a non-profit organization and how difficult has been to fund the organization or keep it funded?

3. What is the position of the Courts on Bad Conduct Discharges given out to service members that have PTSD? Can those discharges be reverse with documentation from Psychologist after the they've been issued?

4. What is your recommendation Service Members (active, reserve, NG) with regard to Article 134 of the UCMJ and the verbal degrading, making slandering comments, or bad mouthing the current Commander-in-Chief (POTUS)? Can they be proescuted or brought up on charges?

I was working for a company I got hired through a disabled veteran job fair, HSS security (hospital shared services). I got singled out for being too much of a "stickler for the rules". Also got singled out as a whistle blower because of an incident I reported to corporate office. They somehow got a female hospital employee to file a sexual harassment charge on me, which came back unfounded. But the company removed me from the hospital I was working at, back in April of 2016, and told me that I could transfer to another hospital. But as yet, with me applying for other positions, I have yet to be re-employed, or fired for that matter. I still have all of my uniforms, ID and badges. Do I have any type of claim I can pursue, or am I just screwed?

There has been much discussion about honorable versus less-than honorable service to this nation. Those who serve and who have served understand heroes are sometimes heralded by the powers that be but all to often no public recognition is offered.
Our post-service employment can and should benefit us and our families but it must have significant potential to benefit prospective employers.
There are many heroes among us and on the other hand their are many who bristle at the hero designation for a variety of reasons - ranging from grief through despair to rage to apathy.
1. How do you recommend breaking through the military shell that many wear unconsciously to help us be better positioned for post-service employment?

CAPT Private RallyPoint Member, First, thank you sir for your service to our country all of these years! Second, thank you for taking time to answer the questions of such a large audience from all over the globe. That's nothing short of incredible.

Sir, I likely won't have access to a computer when you do this live, so I'll ask ahead of time and search for a response if it's appropriate.

My question is fairly complicated, but I feel you'll steer me in the right direction. Summary, I chose the forum of Article 15 proceedings instead of trial by courts martial. In 2014, I was a MSgt/E-7. I was accused of wrongdoing by Article 107 False Official Statement. As you're aware, the penalty if convicted by courts martial for 107 is steep and is a felony. I didn't want to jeopardize possible prison time, hence the Article 15 proceedings. An investigation was done without my knowledge and 5 statements were made and used as evidence. Four statements were "against" me, though none of the 4 stated the exact same thing. The 5th was nearly a defense of my initial statement. The Article 15 proceedings are fast and I was offered NJP on 1 May and found guilty and demoted to E-6 on the 8th. I believe I exhausted all means for appeal, but have you seen cases of NJP being "overturned" after a certain timeline? Many feel the punishment was too severe and if the commander truly did believe I committed a crime, there were many less severe options available. Up to that point, my military record had been spotless with no unfavorable information anywhere. Additionally, there has been no unfavorable information since this "incident" occurred. How would you advise me or others in a similar situation? Is there anything else I can do in this matter? Could I petition my representative Congressman? If so, what if I don't hear anything back? Thank you for your time and I am hoping this is acceptable.

Capt. Ebersole, Thank you for taking the time first of all to answer our questions and Thank you for your dedicated time and service to our country and for us veterans.

My questions are about how to get obvious mistakes and misinformation corrected or the lack of information added to your service record .

My situation is a little sensitive and skipping past that mess, on my paperwork for dates that show what duty commands I was stationed at up to discharge, my discharge date is initialed out and prior date written in .
And I also went through aviation ordinance school in Pensacola but it has me as undesignated in boot camp even though I was stationed in nattc Pensacola. There's also no remarks or credits for ordinance school or involvement with the flying rifles drill team.
How does one go through getting these kinds of errors corrected in order for me to be able to use the credits towards college or if I want to be able to work within the government and be able to use my training as proof on my resume?

Welcome to RallyPoint CAPT Private RallyPoint Member Sir. I don't normally engage much in questions with departments heads but hopefully you can answer my question if not steer me in the right direction. I am building a medical manufacturing company based on six inventions I have created based on what I used on my own children and their medical needs. One covering the Autism Spectrum and the other covering sever lung damage and decreasing oxygen levels.

My question(s) is this, I am still in the start up stages and Patening stages of my devices and formulas. However I do have my DUNNS, SAM & CAGE Code. I am seeking to do business with the government and military. One of my inventions (without giving out specifics) is a breathing machine that I designed and built for my son who's lungs were not growing and could not support his bodies oxygen levels. They said he wouldn't make it to see five and that was being generous. It just came to my attentions that this breathing machine and my old world formula may help veterans effected by Golf War Syndrome and others who may have been exposed to other chemical warfare.

Anyway Sir, I am still working on my Capabilities statement, SAR Sole Supplier registration and working on an email to LTG Darrell Williams Director of DLA. I also have a theory as to why soldiers are getting PTSD more so after separation from the military and why a lot prefer to live homeless. I think this could be fixed by utilizing research and data with my Manufacturing company and strictly hiring Veterains and their family. I also think gaining access to a closes base, or closing base could set the stage for this research. Building a voluntary veterans Base if you will. Again, without giving out specifics.

Just as a side note my grandfather also a world wide patented inventor of a revolutionary invention that changed the oil industry. Though his Patent time is up and he passed away his inventions still live productively in every oil pump in the world. Patent No. 4,673,338 and Patent No. 4,557,668, inventor William A. Jones.

I am single mother Sir with a lot of resources and unable to access some of them due to lack of knowledge, guidance or personal funding. How would someone like myself gain the resources and federal funding to get my company up and running so that we as a veteran community can continue to help our fellow soldiers and their families?

I'm a big fan of your Corporate Fellowship Program as it seems the best way to help active duty service members transition successfully is to allow them to work in civilian companies before they retire / separate. It's impressive that you are already doing this and attracting great companies to hire service members in these fellowships. What are the biggest challenges this program faces and what can RP members do to benefit from or support this program?

Capt. Eversole - As a Navy veteran I am wondering about those veterans who have lost limbs in their service. What activities are being provided for them to get back to work and to being hired for a job that their skill and knowledge can be used despite the loss of a limb or limbs. I refer to the effort to restore the individual's will and determination to serve in a suitable position, a restoration of some of his original physical functions removed by his wounds, and the training needed for service in civilian life, and finally, the arrangement with employers to open positions for wounded servicemen/ I understand that such a set of tasks is a gigantic one, which fires my concern.

I am a service connected disabled blind veteran, I was forced to retire from federal service when my blindness became sever. I am a sales manager with a medical device company that serves only the VA Healthcare segment with non opioid solutions for chroninc pain management. Am interested in vets/spouses with medical device sales experience or patient care experience, interested in sales career. We have not recruited directly to the veteran market in the past and need some guidence on how to reach this segement of portential employees. Please advise on how to start this process. Jack

This is desperately needed. I worked with VA Employment Services. I have found outside employment but was waiting 9 months to find federal employment. Currently only two positions are available for Non Specialized personnel- ie. Doctors, nurses. The rest were internal only or food Services/ housekeeping. While I wouldn't have minded these positions...I have an associate's degree in Business Administration and over 14 years State/County Government expeience and obtaining my Bachelor's degree in Public Administration. Iwould have been a strong Administration candidate for several positions if they were available to veterans. My story is not unique, may veterans have the skills but are not allowed to apply for entry level administrative positions within federal employment.
