Depending on what you&#39;re hoping to gain each could be a great or terrible choice Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 20 at 2021 11:47 PM 2021-10-20T23:47:32-04:00 2021-10-20T23:47:32-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 7329584 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Not all combat MOS&#39;s provide the same experience so make sure the work is something you will enjoy. I have been a 19D and am currently a 12B. I loved being a 19D, but the role I held 20 years ago has since changed and today, I would not like the job. As a 12B there are a ton of options on the daily work as well. I am in a sapper unit, so I get to watch all the other 12Bs rolling in trucks doing route clearance or heavy units supporting the other 12 series... however, when I get where I am walking to I get to set a charge and go boom! It all depends on what you want out of the Army! Best of luck to you! I see you&#39;ve been a Corporal for a couple of years. Hopefully, you&#39;re a team leader or similar job so you&#39;re getting some leadership experience. As I read it, your MOS repairs HVAC equipment. This is a high-demand skill in the civilian world. If you are planning on getting out of the Army in the next year or two, I think you should stick with your current MOS. Learn as much as you can. If you have the opportunity to get civilian certifications in your technical area, go for them. I know in our local area there are many heating and air conditioning companies looking for technicians and willing to pay well for experienced people. However, if you want to make the Army a career, then the move to combat arms is a great idea! Typically the first step you want to take is go to your career counselor and discuss your options with them, and see if it&#39;s possible.
