CW2 Private RallyPoint Member 375343 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I've been tapped as our master of ceremonies for our event. Last year was apparently disappointing. This year they are trying to spruce it up a bit. We have a photo booth rented. The budget is set though, so we can't add to prices. This is stuff we can do to keep things interesting etc.<br /><br />What I've done so far is set up an Instagram and Twitter account as well as a Facebook event. Gonna have people hashtag photos etc. Hoping to turn it a little towards social media. Gotta figure the event is geared a lot towards junior Soldiers, and they're gonna be on their phones anyhow. Might as well try to keep them engaged.<br /><br />Other thoughts? Help me make our BN dining out better 2014-12-18T01:04:16-05:00 2014-12-18T01:04:16-05:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 375362 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>SFC Jones,<br /><br />I've never been to a "dining out" or a ball or any official military type thing, so I have no idea how casual the events should be. <br /><br />Here are some things that I love when they're done at parties and other casual gatherings:<br /><br />- Plan a flash mob using at least a dozen volunteers to put on a choreographed scene when a certain song plays <br />- Have a good DJ who plays interactive songs like the Cha-Cha Slide<br />- Have an Electric Slide Contest (even older people know how to do that dance)<br />- Give a prize every 1/2 hour for best photo posted to IG or Twitter during event<br />- Poker/blackjack table (chips redeemable for drinks/trinkets)<br />- Raffle drawing for gift certificates donated by area restaurants/businesses<br />- Black Light Room with glow stick tic-tac-toe, neon paint, etc.<br />- Have a theme like "The 80s" so people can wear crazy accessories<br /><br />I guess that if a dining out is a formal thing, most of those ideas wouldn't fly, but here's to hoping it's more fun than formal!
