HOA's evicting patriotic owners and tenants flying "Old Glory"

Every so often, we hear in the news that some HOA or management organization either threatens to evict, or fine an owner or a tenant who tries to fly "Old Glory" or support the troops.

We sacrificed a lot for our Flag, our Nation, and our Freedoms. But, we continue to send aid to those who, in a good day, would burn our Flag.

Your opinions? Please keep it clean.

You can decide to live by the HOA or live somewhere else.  It's your choice.<br><br>You signed the HOA and agreed to abide by it...if it changes after you've lived somewhere, you should be grandfathered.

While I think it is wrong as well, it's just wrong, if you move into any housing area that is governed by a HOA or some other community rules, then you can not bitch and complain about it afterwards. Ensure you know the bylaws and community rules and abide by them, or move.

I believe HOA's are by virtue un-American, thus is why i do not live in an area governed by such Socialistic ideals. At the same time, if i am a home owner, I would give no allegiance to the HOA and rebel for the sole purpose of rebelling.  If you do not pay my mortgage, insurance, or taxes, what right do you have to govern my property?  As a renter you have no protections and thus are required to pay homage to the HOA and their governing body, again not sure why as your rent is going to the home owner, but then perhaps the home owner supports the evil HOA.

I'm Thinking HOA, Housing Association, Mine is probably one of the snootiest parts of the KC Metro but never any problem flying Old Glory or my Navy Flag as long as it is presented well. I'm sure not everyone is the same but we are big on Flags. I live in the same Housing Association with the German Consular General and British Consular General for Kansas City and I dare them to bust on their National Flags side by side with Old Glory in their Front Yards.

HOAs can get out of hand but as a funny aside,  on the X-Files a monster took care of the noncompliant.    lol.    And as far as these rules,  they can change and who can afford to move every time there is a major change.

My opinion? Ridiculous. Wrong.

This is one of those relatively rare situations that I would actually argue for taking them to to the press. Give the HOA as much bad publicity as you can and see if you can shame them into changing.

I think it's wrong of any individual to tell someone they can't support their country or the Service members who defend the very freedoms they want. I will NEVER live in a neighborhood that has an HOA!! It's just goes against every fiber of my being to live somewhere like that!!
