How and from where can I request copies of Army Field Manuals, AR's, TC's, and GTA's?

PLEASE provide input and or guidance....

1. How and from where can I request copies of Army Field Manuals, AR's, TC's, and GTA's?

2. What Army regulation(s) deal with soliciting donations from civilians/civilian enterprises?

3. Has anyone had any experience obtain samples of equipment or software from civilian enterprises for testing/trials?

You should be able to navigate to these from AKO. Log in and look down in the lower right column for a link to Army Publications. I believe you can also find what you're looking for under the My References tab. Good luck!

1LT-

1) Google. Seriously, just about every publication is available by telling google "FM 7-22" or whatever you need. If it's not immediately available, http://www.apd.army.mil/ has everything including forms. If you want hard copies for whatever reason, there's always a DAPS for the unit, they'll either print them or obtain them.

2) AR 600-29. Basically, it's complicated and generally deemed not worth the effort.

3) Not at the company or battalion level for regular units. Such a request generally gets dealt with much, much higher.

CPT Chris Loomis These are all available either through APD or through AKO. If you want the actual printed and produced ones, your unit has a publications person designated on orders. They establish a pubs account. Your unit pays for these. http://www.apd.army.mil/ptclick/default.aspx

Sir, get with your PSG or NCOIC and they will get you spooled up. They should always be your first resource. That being said, your unit should have someone on orders for ordering paperback copies, but you can always go to the army publishing directorate website to find what you need.

Heck you can find certain up to date manuals on Amazon if hard copies are what you are looking for I just got an Infantryman field manual on Amazon

As many have said already you can look at APD. What you will find is the basic stuff. TM's won't be on there. In reality getting things published is not an easy task. I haven't really seen a unit do this. More than often they just download it and print it themselves. If you need GTAs you can go to nearest post and check TSC. The have that stuff on hand and are always willing to give it out. I got 500 protractors the other day from them.

You can get every pub from ako, but most posts have training supply depot. You can get training aides, visual aides, and publications from these places so long as you're authorized to spend unit funds for these things. These depots typically have accounts with your unit and so long as these pubs aren't for your personal reference you can get it. Additionally most units have someone in the either the S-3 shop or motorpool whose additional duty is to be a custodian of publications.

2. DOD 5500.07-R ,AR 600-29, and likely local garrison policy (it is prohbited except under certain circumstances)
3. ??? This is something that Army procurement and acquisition commands are doing, not at a line unit...it could be considered impermissible solicitation.
