How are loan repayments plans distributed each year?

I'm in the selection process for a veterinarian officer position (64A) and, if selected, I would be eligible for the Active Duty Health Professions Loan Repayment Program. I know the program says you get $40k per year for three years. Does the Army just give you $40k (minus tax) at the beginning of the fiscal year or whatever? Or is the repayment split up over your paychecks? Quarterly? How does it work? Thanks.

You have to provide your loan accounts and complete the forms on my pay each year for the government to pay the amounts (minus taxes) directly to your student loan accounts. When you log into my pay the links are there. Also when you commission through AMEDD they will give you guidance on what you do each year to get things squared away for loan repayments.
