How are you planning to enforce the new AR 670-1

This morning I was conducting my APFT and another unit across from us were also doing the same. One of the Soldiers was wearing a black fleece cap and no one correct it him. I politely inform him that he was out of uniform he reply that when had this changed? There was a 1SG and several senior NCOs. My question is how can you enforce the new when you don't even know the old?

I hate to say it but I found the old one to rarely be enforced unless I was at NCOES. People wear spandex and white socks with logos on the and rarely is that correction been made as far as my experience goes. I think soldiers are going to be in for a rude awaking with the new AR 670-1

You enforce by doing exactly what you did as well as by maintaining the standard yourself. Rome wasn't built in a day and getting everyone on board with the new AR won't happen overnight either.

Keeping Soldiers informed. The Videos and PDF slides were sent out. Taking the time to train Soldiers on what is expected and making sure that everyone adheres and enforce the set standard. It's a collective effort, but it starts with the individual Soldier and/or Leader. My unit briefed Soldiers on the changes and they now know what the changes are and what to look for.

I hate when another NCO corrects my Soldier. It irks my nerves so bad that i didnt set him/her up for success.

Simply lookup the old and new, make the clearly uninformed change of command aware of the difference between the old and new Reg. Then take the appropriate steps to enforce the change in the law.
