Yes I have had a sleep study.

I have a CPAP machine but I don't use it. I did recently switch to a Sleep Number bed that inclines so I can sleep with my head elevated. My wife says I snore less now.

It's hard for me to fall asleep, easy to wake up. I think my wife is sometimes evil and plays on that. We'll be in bed talking, then decide "okay, time to go to sleep." She'll wait about 10 minutes or so, until I'm just about to fall asleep, then start talking to me again. Something like "John, are you still awake?" That is a lucky thing. Caffine, no impact...

I have been deployed many times, and when I got home the last few times I was particularly jumpy when I heard loud noises etc... But, that too luckily passed. I too have sleep apnea, and a CPAP, but I don't use it much.... We recently got a Tempurpedic adjustable, and that was huge. But, luckily I have always fallen asleep fast.

I even slept thru and Ambush "Re-Do" at Ranger School - Don't ask - Funny story.

That said RP keeps me up too late. It was about 2010 that I knew about it and that was because my wife would complain about my snoring, after getting my machine issued from the VA & getting it dialed in come to find out my wife had apnea too.
