She was not the intended target (as it seems most victims tend not to be in these type of crimes). He plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to a minimum of three (3) years in prison. Three years! <br /><br />Interesting side note: <br />Lipscomb was initially charged with first-degree murder. Authorities dropped charges against another man because a delay in the delivery of DNA evidence violated his right to a speedy trial.<br /><br />Meanwhile, non-violent crimes sometimes bring much stiffer penalties - see link at the bottom for a few references.<br /><br />Is the judicial system in America broken? Everyone blames the "System" for keeping everyone down. Who is too blame? The criminals, but it must be the white male that keeps everyone down. I don't know, but they need to make people pay for the crimes they commit, or stop making laws I suppose... TSgt David L.
