Strings can get pulled and/or a PV2 can show out above and beyond the SPC and go in their stead. I've seen it happen both ways. I had 2 PV2 and one PFC in my BLC. There's a waiver for everything in the military, if the school had an open seat, and the Soldiers leadership/unit was trying to fill that seat, and if a waiver was possible, then boom, there you go, it happened.

Of course, this is basically unheard of, but anything can happen in the U.S. Army, right!Response by 1SG Eddie Smith made May 17 at 2019 11:02 AM2019-05-17T11:02:42-04:002019-05-17T11:02:42-04:00SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member4644670

I went to WLC (now BLC) in 2013 and had a PFC in my class.

Do Company Commanders still control who goes to BLC? I think we had a PFC there when I was in PLDC in 1986.
BNOC the requirement was any E-5 or above, or any rank, if they were in an E-5 or above slot. Think we had a E-4 Corporal at mine in '88.
It depends on the needs of the Army, and they have 'X' amount of slots for every course, and rather than teach with less personnel they will often go to units, last minute when I was on active duty in Germany in '82 and ask if we had anyone eligible for PLDC or what the above requirements llisted were?Response by SGT Mark Saint Cyr made May 20 at 2019 12:34 AM2019-05-20T00:34:53-04:002019-05-20T00:34:53-04:00PFC Brian Berntson4677032

Roger SFC Boyd!!
