How can I appeal a decision for combat related injury/illness? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-can-i-appeal-a-decision-for-combat-related-injury-illness

I was medically retired from the Army in April 2014. During my MEB/PED I attempted to appeal the decision that my medical issues were a direct result from being deployed to Iraq. However, even during my Formal appeal I was denied 10AC(combat related injury). I am now armed with additional evidence to support that my issues were a direct result from being in Iraq. Is there anyway to appeal the decision now that Im out in order to receive both my disability and my retirement pay (CRDP)? Trust me be patient !!! Its ruff... But first be smart get a battle buddy go to your closest VA clinic find the wounded warrior people for advice, do you have a 30% or more rating? Call [login to see] VA main number ask location of your closest "regional" office for DAV should be same building but start with wounded warrior people at local clinic then hold on to seat as well as a lot of spare change you will be moving around paperwork, appt, finding things you forgot, different junk. But remember stay patient!! Its a process 333 days or more appeals........
Decision Review Officer first "then" traditional appeals process, it's a two for one! Holler back if you need more I'll look SPC Larry Buck Mon, 19 Jan 2015 06:44:41 -0500 2015-01-19T06:44:41-05:00 2015-01-18T22:22:26-05:00
