I have been told there are ways around most if not all of the policy. Both chain of commands are aware of the relationship and approves. Only due to being together before the army life. When I went to FT Sam in '09, in my class there was a husband and wife. During POI, the only time they were together was during formation and class time. Outside of class, they were not allowed to battle buddy each other while on base..........and technically weren't allowed to be together during weekend passes. Have you spoke with your PSG? Also, policy letter 17 means nothing when you leave there. It merely says what the rules are. It refers back to the "The Soldier's Blue Book" TADOC PAM 600-4 for the actual definition. (giving examples that wouldn't "necessarily apply to a married couple"). <br /><br />However, remember you are in a Training Status, and AIT is progressive Privileges. Seek guidance from your leadership, and someone who is familiar with the letter. <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description">Õi$HyÕIvÃtÛtqIZýãPh{oïTÚAX[zzBVaÛzÒLwcwærmÕÝ$MÛ GoúO3ÛQéÞzÔwWëºSÝJÛzHI+N(]ý-/mÛºXtßWþ8IxmÛª@Å$íýþÚ¶ÑÌ7-»oÒJm¶tÒÛÇÿòM·¡}SsÛwõLJ»nÙhUÈã0=[ID¶ßêªöy6Ä» ºbU¶ۿ; îÛÕ;$EwÅÏ7þÒQMîÝoô¡7I2ìS¿úBãÛjñÇúM»wI%MM·ý*ÚHÓFw¶ïÒé[ÿåEHÉR#é(î»þI+GíÞÈèâ5TaEX1énl3Å0ÔHÆtÃrèðCÄ8N2àB!=AÏdCÐú1B AFèu õ\6-ë=¶VòºPC ¡IÃN?aWÈ1H&quot;8M68h&quot;7m« AÐCà Â=.*nÛoýt4ÌmÉ¡íd[[#Â%mÒGË;äÉNwäs¶ÔØGÚ| FÛKL¶KA6Kd§IBm¶Û·E=¿jµpa}]áSàôÚAÂøopzÞê¿Iú{ïÛÛÒ}ý?\6ÿéi)víþ¶ÿ¿þ_íïOæïßûïéì=ébîÛwJSmwîÿi7éíÖÿûó...</p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS Wed, 20 Jan 2016 17:13:11 -0500 2016-01-20T17:13:11-05:00 Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 21 at 2016 7:43 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-can-i-be-stationed-with-my-wife-can-policy-letter-17-really-prevent-that?n=1249332&urlhash=1249332 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If your in a training environment (AIT) then you should abide by those rules. Once you complete training you sign up for the military couple program in order to get assigned together. Since she was in first I would guess that you would have to follow her when she gets orders. You and your wife can and should be enrolled on the MACP, ask your PSG about it. If you are married then you need to submit a DA 4187 for enrollment into the Married Army Couples Program. Once that is approved your branch manager (s) will be able to station you two at the same duty station...eventually. Depending on the timing it could take time to be stationed together.
