I'm currently in a unit that doesn't have an slot for my MOS and my rank (25U30). I'm posting be going to an S6 NCOIC slot but I haven't head anything.

Have you spoken to the chain of command and used your NCO support channel. I was in a Medical Lab unit once and was in the same situation except my unit SGM told me to find a job. So I took it upon myself to reach to people I knew and got re-assigned after 13 months in the Med unit.

Coming from reserves we have retention NCOs who are a great resource to look up vacant slots. Do you have career managers or someone who can see vacancies and help slot you?
