Ranger qualified personnel should have a certificate or orders awarding the tab. 75th Ranger Regiment is trickier. ERB or DD214 should have unit of assignment history or RIP/ RASP graduation. Trust me when I say there is a lot of debate as what a “Ranger” is and more people that don’t know inadvertently add to the confusion. Or ranger qualified? You can call the specific battalion they said they were in if you cared enough. Other then that you need to know battalion specific information that you can cross reference. I don't know of any other way unless someone just carries around their dd-214 or rasp/rip cert. But yes asking the MOS is normally a dead giveaway because the posers don’t know that ranger is not an MOS.

I always like to ask him when they went through school what was the class number and the roster number because I can tell you I know my class number and my roster number from jump school back in 1983 even to this day.
